Cookies For Santa

Kait has been quite the baker. She found this cute reindeer cookie to make so we made them for Santa. She says that we should make them every year for him. I guess this will be a new tradition in our house.

Happy Birthday Uncle Ryan

Okay Ryan here was the cake we made for your birthday. Sorry you were not able to enjoy it with us this year. Kait did a good job baking it for you! Hope you had a great birthday.

Stick It

Kait has been working on sticking her round-off backhand spring back tuck for awhile now she has accomplished that goal. It is so pretty, she was able to do it last year but it was very flat and not so pretty looking. Her tumbling has come so far this year she has never tumbled strong. I will be taking video of it and posting it soon.

History Day Again

Makay has decieded to compete in History Day again. His group has 2 girls and 2 boys and they have decieded to do a preformance this year. Which means that we will be building sets and finding costumes and props on top of all the research and putting together the script. The group has set the goal to win State, which will not be easy because the division is 6-8 grade. It can be done, a group from their school placed 3rd in Nationals 2 years ago. Right now we are in the research stage and narrowing down our topic. History Day is a year long project, but Makay loves it and is really looking foward to all the work. He still talks about meeting Ben Kuroki and his experiences from History Day. These are memories he will never forget and that is worth all the hard work.

Back To School

Back To School Night at Liberty High. I can hardly believe that I have a kid who is old enough to attend high school. Where has the time go, it seems like just yesterday I took him to his first day of school. Ty is really enjoying high school and is doing very well. He is looking foward to all the things that come along with high school. He really enjoyed attending his first football game. Go Liberty!

Soccer Game

Makay playing goalie.
Makay on a breakaway. Makay had his second game of the season. He played goalie and blocked some awesome shots. He made a deal with his coach if he played goalie he wants to play foward or mid also. He played 1st and 4th quarter as goalie and played 2nd and 3rd as a foward. He scored once and had several shots at goal. I think the coach has a tough choice to make on where to play Makay.

Fish for Dinner

Last night we cooked up some of the fish Ty caught for dinner. Both boys liked it and said it tasted like chicken. Ty put B-B-Que sauce on it. I was very surprised that they were both willing to try the fish.

Recap of Week

Ty spoke today at church he was little nervous but did very well. The first week of school is now behind us. Ty said that it was not as bad as he thought it would be, so far we have not had much homework, math and spanish. I am a little rusty on the spanish it has been over 20 years since I took spanish hopefully I can help him. Makay loves 6th grade and is already looking foward to History Day again. We are already working on it. I must be crazy it is a lot of work but he really enjoyed it and is so excited about history that it is hard to not get excited with him. Kait loves her teacher and was excited that she got the class job that she wanted.

Hectic

Wow we are so busy with everyone's practices and stuff. I thought that once school started I would be able to take it easy. The day starts early since Ty now has seminary I get up to make sure he has a good breakfast and is ready to leave by 6:50. I then have a few minutes before Makay and Kait need to be up, then I get them breakfast and make sure they are getting ready for school. John or I pick up Ty and take him to school and the other gets the other 2 school. When everyone is out the door I have time to get things done that I want to. After school is crazy! Kait has cheer practice on Monday for Columbia and also Dolphins so there is only a few minutes to eat and get homework done for her. Tuesday we have tumbling. Wednesday Makay has soccer and scouts, Kait has cheer and Ty has YM. Thursday Makay has soccer. I guess the only day we do not have anything is Friday, but now that Ty is in High School there will be football games and stuff that he will want to go to. Sat we have soccer games for Makay, Kait has tumbling and will have to cheer at football games. John works Wednesday-Saturday so it makes it a little hard for me to get everything done but the kids all work together to make sure things are done.

Monday, August 18, 2008

Wow the first day of school. The house is so quiet today. John and I went to Barnes and Noble this morning and then came home. Everyone was excited and a little nervous this morning, John dropped off Ty at Liberty this morning. I walked Makay and Kait to their school. Kait has a lot of her friends so she was very excited about that. Makay as the same teacher this year as he had last year so he already knows what to expect. Hard to believe that this will be the last time Makay and Kait will be together until High School. My last year with kids in only 2 schools, next year they will be in 3 schools.

School shopping

Wow school starts on Monday. Try school shopping with 2 boys who could care less if they had new clothes and 1 girl who can shop till she drops. We are finally close to being done. Everyone got stuff to at least start with. The boys just till me to pick out stuff for them, however I did have to take them to get shoes. Never try to do it all in 1 day with boys. Kait was so mad with them for not wanting to look at everything. Kait has turned into a good bargin shopper. She is so excited when we find deals she likes to figure out how much we saved and is proud of all the deals we found for her.
